Grids and Apparel The Garment Industry Management System (GIMS) efficiently controls the unique tasks confronting the garment and soft goods industry. The tasks from taking of orders for multiple styles, colors, and sizes, through the co-ordination of all resources required for stocking and delivery, to the tracking of purchases of pieces of fabric are systematically performed. This all begins with a matrix which accepts orders for a line based upon only those styles, colors, and sizes appropriate for this garment.
A grid can be one- or two-dimensional, with up to 20 colors (rows) and 50 sizes (columns). An item can have up to 1,000 unique color/size combinations, each of which is called a cell. When a new item is set up, its grid (color/size) layout is also established. New items may also be set up by copying existing items and grids, reducing setup time and opportunities for errors.
Throughout the GIMS, items can be viewed, processed, and printed in grid format. Using grids (instead of a large number of separate items) reduces the user effort and the computer resources required.
Sales Order
In Sales, GIMS Order Matrix module allows printing of Customer and Vendor orders from Sage Accpac Order Entry and Purchase Order in formats as dictated by the Apparel Industry. Products can be easily created with variations in colors and sizes and then be displayed in a matrix table format with a single click of a button. Each variation can also have its own unique inventory level, image, custom fields, UPC code, cost price and selling price, including SKU and product description. View and Print your Orders, Pick/Pack slips, Invoices in this industry approved Order Matrix format.
Inventory Control
Grid Inventory Management System allows you to stock and track inventory for each variation and generate inventory reports in the easy to read Order & Inventory Matrix format. Integration of Order Entry, Purchase Order and Inventory management with all other GIMS applications is a feature of this system. Strong data retrieval capabilities and an integrated tool set add to the power of the application. No more manual data entry for each color-size combination
Purchasing Order
In Purchasing, gridded items can be quickly placed on order and easily tracked. Reorders may be calculated automatically by the system to meet model-stock levels, or entered manually. P.O.s may be printed in grid format on user-defined forms. Receivings are quick; only exceptions are entered. For multi-location retailers, allocated P.O.s may be issued to a vendor, with deliveries intended for multiple locations. During the entry of a purchase order, new vendors and items may be easily set up on-the-fly.
